San Francisco Magazine - Evan Shively

Evan Shively is a Harvard graduate who quit his job as chef of prestigious San Francisco restaurant Potrio to pursue his passion for wood artistry, after finding difficult to find the wood he was looking for his creations he unwittingly became an expert at sourcing so shortly after he started Arborica, a salvage wood mill, showroom and lumber yard located near Tomales Bay that rescues old trees unwanted by larger commercial mills from junk heaps and landfills and turns them into pieces of art-wood.

Arborica has become a prized resource for architects and designers who are looking for the perfect piece for a project, and are able to appreciate the distinctive beauty that these salvaged materials bring to life.
